About SPC
Welcome to the Software Professional
Course.
Funded by the Department for Employment and Learning, and
backed by major ICT companies, Momentum, Invest Northern
Ireland and the Association of Northern Ireland Colleges, the
Software Professional Course aims to offer a wide range of
people the opportunity to enter an exciting, dynamic industry.
The course also ensures that we are able to deliver on the
tremendous potential of the ICT industry in Northern Ireland by
making sure companies have the staff they need to be a
success.
ICT pervades all aspects of life these days and Northern
Ireland software companies are at the forefront of a wide range
of exciting developments in the financial sector, in
telecommunications, in mobile computing, in medical
applications and many others. A career in this industry offers
great rewards, highly engaging work, and truly global
potential. The industry is growing rapidly and more people are
needed to join this exciting environment.
The Software Professional Course offers graduates of any
age, from disciplines other than computer science, the
opportunity to gain the necessary skills to compete for jobs
and careers in IT.
The 4th intake of the SPC started in September 2008 with
over one hundred students. This is more than double the highest
previous intake!
